First Ever Blog

Well hello blogging world at large! Where do I start? I should probably tell you a little bit about myself so you know why it would be worth your time reading my blogs? I'm a 29 year old nobody who works in admin for a Travel Insurance company. Sound exciting? Then I'm saying it wrong! It's boring as hell but my job is not me. Someday I hope to be a somebody who writes for a living, and not just to people wanting to know what their insurance covers them for. My ideal job would be writing for a film publication as I'm a self confessed film nut. My dream would be working for Empire Magazine as I've been reading Empire since I was about 10 years old. As my job pays a pittance I can't afford to get any qualifications which would help me reach my goal. In discussing this predicament with a friend she suggested I start a blog. Then another friend suggested it. And another. So eventually I listened and decided to start a blog. Damn scary when you've never done it before and don't really know what you're doing. So I started looking at other blogs and then stopped very quickly when I realised that all of those other people have something I don't. They're interesting, messed up, intelligent people. I am not, well not particularly anyway. So I want to set expectations very low with my blog. My plan is to review movies (and occasionally warble about my life if I feel I have something worth saying). Sound like something you want to read? Good, coz I need readers if I want to reach my goal!
